These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HomeSweep mobile application (the "App") operated by HomeSweep ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use HomeSweep. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
2. Account Registration
To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@homesweep.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. The Service
3.1 What HomeSweep Provides
HomeSweep allows you to:
- Scan household product barcodes and ingredient labels to receive a Biohacker Score (0–100)
- View ingredient breakdowns across five toxin categories: carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, respiratory irritants, skin sensitizers, and aquatic toxins
- Receive cleaner product swap recommendations
- Organize scanned products into room-based audits
- Track your overall Home Score over time
- Receive notifications about product recalls and new research findings
3.2 Informational Purposes Only
The Biohacker Score, ingredient analyses, toxin category breakdowns, and swap recommendations provided through HomeSweep are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, health advice, or a professional toxicological assessment. HomeSweep is not a substitute for professional medical or environmental health consultation. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or toxicologist for advice specific to your health circumstances.
3.3 Accuracy of Data
We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of our product database, ingredient data, and scoring algorithms by cross-referencing sources including the EPA, EWG, EU REACH registrations, and peer-reviewed research. However, we do not guarantee that all information is complete, accurate, or up to date. Product formulations may change without notice, and new research may alter risk assessments. You acknowledge that scoring and recommendations may not reflect the most current product formulations.
4. Subscription Plans
4.1 Free Plan
The Free plan includes 5 product scans, a Biohacker Score for each scan, basic ingredient breakdown, and 1 room audit.
4.2 Premium Plan
The Premium plan is available at $4/month (billed annually) and includes unlimited product scans, unlimited room audits, full ingredient breakdown with sources, smart swap recommendations, label scanner (OCR), product recall alerts, and Home Score tracking & history. Premium includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
4.3 Billing and Renewal
Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. The renewal charge will be applied to your payment method on file within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through Settings > Subscription in the App, or through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods. Your scan history and room data will be preserved and accessible on the Free plan.
4.5 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will be communicated to you in advance and will take effect at the start of your next billing period. Continued use of the Premium plan after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or its scoring algorithms
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its servers
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent scan limits on the Free plan
- Misrepresent HomeSweep scores or data in commercial advertising or product marketing
- Share your account credentials or allow others to access the App through your account
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the App — including the Biohacker Score algorithm, product database, user interface design, graphics, text, and software — are owned by HomeSweep and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The "HomeSweep" name, logo, and "Biohacker Score" are trademarks of HomeSweep. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.
7. User Content
If you submit product reviews, feedback, or other content through the App, you grant HomeSweep a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with the operation and improvement of the App. You retain ownership of your content and may request its removal at any time.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any Biohacker Score, ingredient analysis, or swap recommendation.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HomeSweep and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to HomeSweep in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Without limiting the foregoing, HomeSweep shall not be liable for any health outcomes, allergic reactions, or adverse effects resulting from your reliance on any Biohacker Score, ingredient analysis, or product recommendation provided through the App.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HomeSweep and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately. You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Sections 6, 8, 9, 10, and 13 shall survive termination of these Terms.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
